Asia Pacific to Regain 92% of Its 2019 Business Travel This Year
The GBTA Business Travel Outlook shows Asia Pacific is forecast for significant growth, with travel spending gaining 41% to US$567 billion this year. Trip.com said outbound travel order for the upcoming Golden Week increased nearly 20 times, and domestic travel increased more than four times over the Golden Week period last year. Accor announced their Novotel brand’s fiftieth hotel opening in Greater China with its newest destination, Novotel Xi’an Aden. -

India’s Hotel Scene Is a Tale of Two Trends
HVS Anarock released their Hotels & Hospitality Overview for India for the second quarter. The Macao Government Tourism Office said Macau received over 93,000 daily visitors in the first three days of August, up from an average of 89,000 daily visitor arrivals in July. The Tourism Authority of Thailand is turning its focus to the Middle East with the goal of attracting 400,000 visitors from the region this year -

Singapore Has Another 1 Million Visitor Month
The Singapore Tourism Board said 1.13 million tourist arrivals were recorded in April, the second consecutive month of more than a million arrivals. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism believes they may attract 10 million foreign tourist arrivals this year, surpassing the target of 8 million previously set. Savills Hanoi said the hospitality industry of Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi is on the mend on the back of surges in both international and domestic tourist arrivals . -

Indian Premium Hotels Projected to See 80 Percent Rise in Revenue
A Crisil Market Intelligence report predicted the revenue of premium hotels in India will rise 80% this current fiscal year. The Macao Government Tourism office said the number of mainland visitors to Macau reached 50% of pre-pandemic levels while the rebound of Hong Kong visitors is even stronger. The MGTO also said they completed the approval process for the Raffles at Galaxy Macau hotel tower, part of Cotai’s Galaxy Macau Phase 3 project. -

Marriott Talks APAC Map Quest
STR reported China hotel data for the week ended March 18. China hotel RevPAR rose 134% on a year-over-year basis, up against an easy -46% comp result in 2022. Marriott International announced the milestone opening of hotel number 1,000 in Asia Pacific , signaling its continued confidence in the long-term growth potential of the region. Sabre said they have found strong demand among Chinese outbound travelers, despite high airfare costs.
