Travel + Leisure beat expectations, bought back $102 million worth of stock and gave out more in dividends than expected. The stock went down. NewcrestImage has plans to acquire more than 100 hotels this year , reported CoStar. So far in 2023, the company has finalized its purchase of a 45-hotel portfolio in 11 states. Key International and Shaner Hotels announced the grand opening of the 156-suite SpringHill Suites by Marriott Jacksonville Beach Oceanfront in Florida . Midas Hospitality announced the opening of the 170-room Residence Inn by Marriott , the first hotel to be built in Clayton, Missouri, in 30 years. -

Aimbridge Hospitality has acquired the management arm of Terrapin Hospitality , with 71 hotels located in 21 states. This aggregates to over 8,100 keys transitioning to Aimbridge management. B.Riley lowered their price target on Ashford Inc. to $14 from $18, they maintained their Neutral rating on the stock. At the close of 2022, LE analysts state that the total global construction pipeline stands at 14,267 projects with 2,298,846 rooms. Phoenix Hotels Project Second-Highest Revenue for a Super Bowl Weekend
According to STR , Phoenix’s hotel RevPAR is forecasted to reach $419 for February 10-12, which would be the second-highest level for a Super Bowl weekend . On Friday lodging stocks were lower. SOND was the biggest mover, down -8% while ABNB was down -5% on the day. White Lodging announced the renaming of its new Autograph Collection hotel in San Antonio, Texas , formerly known as The Otis Hotel . -

U.S. Hotel Construction Increased in December
After 25 consecutive months of year-over-year declines, U.S. hotel construction increased slightly in December. Wells Fargo cut their price target on Airbnb to $130 from $165. They maintained their Overweight rating. STR said US hotel RevPAR the week ended 1/14 was up 33.1%. RevPAR was up 9.4% versus the same week in 2019.
