Late last week, hotel REITs in the U.S. released an avalanche of earnings and investors were in a good mood again.

Concord Hospitality has partnered with Margaritaville Resorts to manage the Compass Hotel Anna Maria Sound in Bradenton, Florida, featuring 123 rooms, dining, a pool, and a fitness center.

Four Seasons will develop the Four Seasons Residences at The Ocean Club in Nassau, Bahamas. This project, set to open in 2027, will include 67 Private Residences with luxurious amenities including an oceanfront pool, private cabanas, a beachfront restaurant, a spa, and more.

U.S. hotel RevPAR rose by 4.9% for the week, with rates up by 4%. Group RevPAR also increased by 13.3%. Truist adjusted ratings and target prices: lowered ratings for some companies (e.g., Bluegreen Vacations), raised target price for Bluegreen Vacations, and decreased target prices for Hilton Grand Vacation, TNL, and VAC. A significant decline in deals across travel and tourism sectors globally during January-October 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, affecting various regions and deal types.

DJIA and Nasdaq dropped significantly, 10-year yield surged, and lodging stocks declined. U.S. hotel industry saw lower occupancy but improved year-over-year comparisons. Peachtree Group announced multiple hotel acquisitions and new development projects, while other hotels are under renovation and expansion.

STR reported US lodging data for the week ended 11/19. US hotel RevPAR was up 20.1% year over year while up 19.3% for the same week in 2019. Following weeks of preliminary groundwork, construction has finally begun on the new Moxy Asheville - North Carolina’s first Moxy Hotel. Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc . is partnering with Proof & Co.’s beverage consultancy arm to revamp the bar experience at all of its Waldorf Astoria properties.
